TOPIC: Smilies accessible through link

On our site we have a lot of smilies in our forum and we wish to use the same smilies in the comments. However, this means that a large amount of the screen is occupied with the smilies when showing the comments.

It would therefore be great if you instead had to click on a link "add smiley" or something to get a popup-window where you could choose the smiley you wish to use.

How much smileys do you need for a comment? I find that most users never use more then 3

In our PHPBB-forum we have 60 different smilies. They are choosable after clicking a link "show more smilies", just like in this forum(!). The smilies are an appreciated part of our forum and requested by the users.

Since I really like the idea of seamless integration of the whole site, I believe it looks better if the same smilies are available when commenting news as when posting topics in the forum. That´s the reason for my question.
