TOPIC: joomlacomment form freezes/stalls for some users when submit

While som users publish comments without any problems, other users have difficulties in both FF and IE.

FF: 'Nothing happens', user tells me.
IE: The blue lamps blink, javascript error message, form doesnt close

Same user had the same problem in the earlier version.

Im using 'Modern' joomlacomment template and livesite: '' in joomla config.

How many users have reported this problem to you? Also tell us the JavaScript error.

Only 1 user! But from two different PCs and browsers. Strange.

I think he/she is lying I can't reproduce the bug, perhaps their computer needs some service.

But you've made modifications to your Joomla site. In the template CSS for example you have */customstyle*/ which is incorrect comment format it should be /*customstyle*/ instead. You also have a missing semicolon on line 80 for the milkyway css. You also failed to close a selector at the end of the file. These are all CSS I know they do not affect JavaScript (usually) but still, can you repair your site first? There are also nearly 50 CSS errors from the Facebook module, whatever it is.

I have a feeling the Facebook thing is conflicting. The JavaScript there takes too long to load or is broken, and because of it the Commenting doesn't happen because it's waiting for the rest of your site to load.

I just made a comment in Firefox 3.5 and had no problems, and I'm on a very slow connection that is behind a proxy.

Have fixed the css issues mentioned, and will look after more. Eventually explore the possible fb conflict (sounds bad).

If it were me, I would not worry about it because only one user reported it - when other people start reporting problems, then you know it might be your site instead of the user

The Facebook errors were only CSS. But all Facebook stuff has been very slow lately, not just Joomla<>Facebook extensions. I only say this because it is offsite JavaScript and it can make even the best webservers lag a lot. Maybe it was just slow for me though, the 'loading' animation never stopped when I visited the site. But you can ask the creators of that extension if you also notice it is slow.
