Just updated to 4.0RC1. The Date is not being displayed at the right hand side of the comment heading - just "d-m-y".
All the dates are correct in the backend.

See here for example

Strange...

Have you looked at (backend): Components > JoomlaComments > Comment Settings > Posting

a little over halfway down the page there, you will see an area called Date format:

This is normally set with the year as first, I just change it around to this: %d-%m-%Y %H:%M:%S

But check that it is set correct for your stuff... just a thought.

Hey John, you've probably upgraded from 3.26 or 4.0 alpha3 or so.

The new setting should be %d-%m-%Y %H:%M:%S . Just go in your backend and enter this date format :)

Thanks both - that's impressive support!

Here's another problem - "do not notifynotify" appears as text, not images or links, against email.

That should show as a drop down menu choice.
Hm... this is something for one of the other guys here I'm afraid, but I will try to figure out where it sits in the meantime... incase I figure it before they get to it.. hehe the race is on. :)

Yep, as Nils said in the comment form near the e-mail field you have a drop down with "do not notify" and "notify" as options

When you choose one of the options, then you will see an yellow and an green icon depending what the user has chosen.

Could you try going to the backend, and under the Content Settings > Security tab, check to see if the value of Enable users notification : is set to No or Yes.

This is just a calculated guess as changing that for me still leaves the fields visible frontend, but they are empty.
Perhaps your server settings allow it still to be visible AND readable, just not something that you can choose.

Thanks again both, but see here - no dropdown :-(
It worked with the previous JoomlaComment version, but for some reason isn't working with 4.0RC
AFAIK I haven't changed any of the settings for Notify.

I see the problem, but can you check the Notifications settings as I mentioned?
Even if you haven't changed these, maybe the default has changed it for you for some reason.

I am thinking this direction, as I say, because I get a similar response when I turn this value to No.
If your setting is also No, then it might respond in a similar fashion.

I must be annoying you by now... sorry... but I can't get this out of my head...
Can you take a screen grab of the backend for this?

Because sometimes I have myself ended up altering these kinds of settings for wrong content.

John, don't use your custom template. Change to the modern template and everything should be working then.

look at the picture above. Don't use the customized template. Click on the drop-down menu for the customize template and select use default. Save and you should see the modern template in the frontend.
