Have you tried to FTP the captcha files over?
Just a suggestion.

Another is to check your index.html file in your template directory, and check that the captcha part looks something like this:

something is wrong with the configuration. That is why I gave you the url. The text says: can not show the image, because it contains errors. Search the forum. There are several threads about the captcha and there were a lot of solutions proposed. Try every single one of them and than report what the result was.

Since that is when the trouble started, it is pretty safe to assume the problems lies with that.
That said, I have a problem believing this is difficult to fix.
I mean, I have changed domain names and close to everything many times, but never had trouble like this.

But there is obviously something going on, since your GoogleMaps Key is also asking for a change.
Which is kind of strange, as this is just a string code. If the site name has changed, then this will dislodge the Key of course.

And thinking on those lines, if you have changed the base Comments template, complete with some hardcodes, then some things might be pointing wrong.
But, this is just speculation... and ideas on where it might be smart to look.
