I have two problems:

(1) Whenever a single joomla article is opened via link (not menu) the hole !joomlacomment input mask is open instead of the text only "Write comment (x comments)".

(2) A similar problem encounters when printing articles: Not only the article and the comments are printed, but also the complete !joomlacomment input mask!

About the first one - it is not a problem, it is just the way it should work. When you open a single article in single view then the form should be open. If you want the form to be hidden per default, try one of the other templates.

About the second point I will try to fix this for the next release.

I changed the template from modern to one of the others and everything was fine - even while printing. :cheer:

Out of curiosity, which template was that?

I've been trying to find out what template users like most apart from modern so I can work on improving it/bugfixing/valid code for a new release.

HELP
for some reason, when i click on "write comment" the page layout goes wacky and all formatting icons as well as all emoticons are listed one on top of each other in a very long column instead of side to side. you can view this layout issue by going to www.aSingleParentsLife.com and clicking on "write comment". any idea how to correct this? thank you!

You have some kind of article "Enhancer" plugin that's absolutely destroying the layout of the Comments

Sorry, it's not funny. Well it is but not for you

What's happening, it seems, is that something is automatically entering new paragraphs for your articles - and it's continuing to do so even in the JoomlaComment layout. How knowledgeable are you in Joomla? Did you build the site yourself? Because it could be anything. If you have yvTags and/or yvComment installed, or have in the past, double check your Plugin manager to make sure they are disabled.

yvTags and yvComment are two of many, many extensions that have this "article enhancer" effect I speak of.

If you need to contact your website builder, do so and share with him/her what I mentioned above. Or, if you PM me with a username and password for your backend, I can take a quick look.

Either way, I would really like to find out what is conflicting with it - this is, I suppose, a bug with JoomlaComment - we need to fix it to make it be "invisible" to these article plugins, other extensions thinks the Comments are part of the article content when it isn't

The problem was the plugin called "EasyImageCaption" Cyn, it's the one that puts text under your pictures.

Turning it off fixed JoomlaComment. (But i've turned it back to normal before I logged out).

I don't know how we would fix this, you'll have to contact the plugin creator at the thread here forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=473&t=424168 and show them your site - they need to fix it. You'll have to try another Image Caption extension or stick to the JCE Default method if you want them fixed immediately.

EDIT: You can also point to this thread if you like, incase the author wants to talk with us. Or if you couldn't be bothered replying to that thread i'd be happy to post there on your behalf and link to your site.
