I am getting the following error when I try to Quote or Reply to a Post.

invalid xml declaration.

error is line 2 position 3>>ml version "1.0" standalone="yes"?><post>
test

test
<comment><<test</comment></post>

GLOBAL:
<post>
test

test
<comment><<test</comment></post>

Also, when I click write comment the area does not expand to view the comment form. I do see the comment form after clicking quote or reply and receive the error. When quoting, the message form does add the following text: "failed to retrieve datas".

This only occurs in IE8. I am using compatibility view.

In Firefox, I get this error when posting quoted comment...

<post><after>9</after>
<noerror>1</noerror><debug></debug>

What version of PHP is installed on your webhost?

Also please verify your permissions - CHMOD all folders to 755 and all files to 644.

Also what version of joomlacomment are you using? And did this problem exist with the installation or joomlaocmment was working fine for some time?

Well, the problem was that I didn't uninstall it correctly before reinstalling the component.

I am using 4.0 beta 2 and I did not do a complete uninstall before reinstalling. All of my errors have disappeared.

Thank you for you responses.

The drop down, slide, feature for the "write comment" does not work in IE8 (compatibility mode). The "write comment" feature is opened by default. The slide works in Firefox.

The drop down, slide, feature for the "write comment" does not work in IE8 (compatibility mode).

This is a known issue :) during the Beta phase we're in, we only update the modern template. By the time RC1 (hopefully) is released, there will be changes to the templates - some will be completely dropped, the others will be moved from a Table structure to valid DIV use, and the JavaScript sliders will be corrected.

Hi Daniel

I am still using the old joomla comment 4.0 and it used to work for as long as I remember and it just stopped last year, for not reason, nothing has change and nothing was updated. Would you be able to help?

The error I am getting is the same as above, the one said at the top of the post:

invalid xml declaration.

error is line 2 position 3>>ml version "1.0" standalone="yes"?><post>
test

test
<comment><<test</comment></post>

GLOBAL:
<post>
test

test
<comment><<test</comment></post>

Hey Ange,
Maybe something with your server has changed??? I'm sorry, but I can't provide support for 4.0. This version is deprecated and all users are advised to move to 4.1.
Kind regards,
Daniel
