TOPIC: Edit comment makes duplicate entry

Not sure if this is a bug, or just me not finding a setting, but anyway:
When, as registered user, I edit my comments, the comments are not edited but duplicated (duplicate includes the edit)

This is strange, I was pretty sure I had the Beta 2 version installed, but I checked and it said Beta 1. (in the "About" menu)
I then downloded the Beta 2, uninstalled, and installed the Beta 2, and it still says Beta 1 in the "About menu" and the "Installed Component List" ?? (and below the comments)

Anyway, it still does the same thing. See above link, now with "Edit3" post on top.

I'm not sure if a solution to this problem was found but I have the same issue. I'm sorry in advance if I missed the fix in my search! I'm also using Beta 2 btw.

I have worked around the problem on my site, removing the "Edit" button from the comments, so the problem is kind of gone. Edit possibility is not important for me.

Are you using a modified JoomlaComment template? Does Internet Explorer 7/8 give any sort of JavaScript Engine/Renderer Errors after clicking Edit? (Check for a yellow exlamation ! sign in the bottom left corner of the status bar).

Yep happening for me. Rolling back to beta 1 where I had no problems.

Edit - Can confirm no issue in Beta 1. Hopefully you can get this sorted for beta 3 along with the removal of dividers between Edit/Quote/Reply/Delete buttons by default also only in beta 2.

I can't reproduce this problem. If anybody having this problem could state their JoomlaComment template and PHP version that might help to make sure Beta 3 will be fixed.

I have the same problem too, since I upgraded from beta1 to beta2.
When editing a comment it just posts a new comment and the old one is left intact.

And the separators for reply, quote, edit etc. are gone.

I use the following template settings:
HTML: SSlide-emotop
CSS: css-blackg
Copy current standard template to customized template directory: No

PHP-version: 5.2.9-2
MySQL version: 5.1.33
Joomla version: 1.5.11
Running on WAMP server 2.0

EDIT: I uninstalled beta2 and downgraded to beta1. But the bug still remains. The separators are back though.

EDIT 2: I think I forgot to remove the module-part. Anyway, I did a FULL UNINSTALL and after that it worked again without bugs in Beta1.

Duplicate post on Edit is confirmed on SSlide-emotop - works fine in Modern however. Templates will be updated for a next release. Thanks everyone.

Same problems here, including separators missing between Reply Edit Delete links.

Fire Fox gives the following error.

Error: post.getElementsByTagName("ul")[0] is undefined Source File: www.theupperroomhomeofprayer.org/compone...t/jscripts/client.js Line: 862

Error occurs in IE 8 and FF 3.6 on several PCs. The same error also appears when posting a comment.

The templates are still not updated. In RC1 you will find only the modern template - with it everything should work as expected.
