TOPIC: 404 error when users get email notification

After the comment is approved the site sends the commenter an email that their comment is published. In the email message there is a direct link to their comment. This would be the "Content Item" link in the email. When the commenter clicks on it they are directed to a 404 page. Where can I fix this? Thanks in advance.
