TOPIC: Problems displaying Japanese text

Hi! I recently installed joomla comment 4.0 on my Joomla 1.5.10 site but there seems to be a problem with displaying Japanese text.

Whenever I try to add a new comment with Japanese text, only "?????" will appear. Is there a setting or configuration that I might have missed?

First please check your database. Is it utf8, is the database collation utf8_general_ci, are fields collations utf8_general_ci.

If the above are utf8 then please check the database - are the Japanese characters stored correctly?

When you check this, then come back with more information

Thank you for the quick reply. I checked the DB collation and it was swedish. So when I switched it to UTF, all the japanese entries are now properly displayed.
