TOPIC: 404: Not Found Error with "Manage comments"

hi there!
at first, thanks for easy to use and useful component!

i just installed 3.26 version on my site last week, and it was working just fine until yesterday when i clicked on "manage comments" (they are moderated) i started getting this error

404: Not Found
Sorry, but the content you requested could not be found

which means i cant publish nor get access to any new comments.
please help!

Hey there! Thank you for useing !jocomment, and sorry for the problems.

Can you first check in your backend under site info->directory permission if everything there is green? If not, change directory permissions.
Then uninstall the extension and install it again.

If it is still not working, then I will need super admin account to check the things myself.

everything's green in directory permissions. i uninstalled and re-installed the whole thing without success...
it still reports the same error..

i believe you have the best intentions but i cant give you super admin access.i installed some other comment system, but ill hapilly wait for the new stable version of joomcomment.

I'm fine if you don't want to give me super admin access. Can you then perhaps search for the server error log - there should be written if something is not accessible or a file is missing.

Actually, I've checked the permissions, as well as I tried to reinstall the script. But everything has failed.

Note, every time. I generate the error by clicking Manage comment. This action generate a file named

core."Number" for example core.451128 this core file is a bin file, but it has no extension.
Its permissions are 600, and it is always around 22MB of space.

Well, then are you able to install a fresh version of joomla and joomlacomment alpha3 and then provide me with admin account? I really need access to the backend and also ftp access so I can try to make changes to the files and find where the problem comes from.

You can make an ftp user that has access only to specific directory. (use your server cpanel for this).

I have a good news regarding the problem. I'm very pleased to inform you that I have successfully fixed the problem.

When I tried to install a special installation for Daniel, I found everything working properly. Then, I tried to regenerate the error message, which I couldn't generate it unless I reloaded a backup, which I have downloaded from the existing installation "The one, which gives the error".

After getting the error exactly in the special account, I realized that the problem in the DB, but when I've been to the php my admin, and checked the tables, all were OK. Then I tested every table, and I found that the problem is with the table jos_comment. But, I'm not sure which record in this table made this problem.

But, I started to delete the recent comments "From php my admin" and refresh the error. after deleting an amount of comments. I got everything back and the problem has been completely fixed.

And I submitted a comment, to check the system and got everything working properly.
