Hey,

I posted a problem yesterday and I have two more important issues now:
When I select a comment and press EDIT, I get a blank page. It sends me to /administrator/index2.php
What's there? I looks at the code of /administrator/index2.php and it is as follows:

<?php
/**
* @version $Id: index2.php 10381 2008-06-01 03:35:53Z pasamio $
* @package Joomla
* @copyright Copyright (C) 2005 - 2008 Open Source Matters. All rights reserved.

* is derivative of works licensed under the GNU General Public License or
* other free or open source software licenses.
* See COPYRIGHT.php for copyright notices and details.
*/

include('index.php');
?>

The NEW button sends me to /administrator/index2.php and I get the same page basically... Manage Comments.

Any ideas?

Well, are you using 3.26? or 4.0 alpha? In the alpha there is a bug with the manage comments.

And personally I believe there should be no add button in the backend. So I will delete it in the next release.

Daniel,

Indeed, I switched back to V.3.26. all fine now

I agree that the ADD i not needed. However, allow me to suggest something..

I imported messages from Easyguestbook as I said, but the truth is that the actual import was done from a completely different database altogether. I had a personal website that had a custom Perl SQL guestbook. So importing into joomla was not possible.
So I did it manually. luckily, I did not have too many messages to copy paste.

The problem was that the date and time on all inputted messages was the same!

I was sure there would be a way to edit the date of the comment in jcomment. But no, there isn't. Let me suggest you allow admins to change edit this SQL table as well. I had to install easySQL to do that, which worked perfectly.

So Either add that option, or instruct people to use the same tool maybe, as I did, in your FAQ section?

Donno, just an idea. ;)

Thanks again

You mean - edit the date column?

Yes.
I had to manually input messages from another guestbook which had old messages.
I needed a way to edit their date, oterwise they would all have shown as if entered the same day and recently.

So you would like to have the option when editing a comment to also edit the date?

Well Daniel, I now did it manually one by one, but I suppose that could be a good option to have. I'm sure it will not be a big thing to implement, right?
I have actually a much more urgent question for you.. so let me post something else.. :huh:
