TOPIC: Hotspot plugin do not work on CB profiler page

Hi,

I have installed CB 1.7.1 on my joomla template 1.7.3 with your hotspot plugin to have on an tab a google map.
When I activated the tab hotspot on CB, I can't access my all website, I have a blank page. When I unpublish the hotspot plugin tab on CB, all my website work correctly. Can you help me to find where is the problem. Thanks.

Please look at your server error log for errors related to the plugin.
Or go to global configuration-> server -> Error reporting -> set it to maximum and let me know if you see any error message on the screen when the plugin is activated.

Here is the error I obtain when I activated the tab plugin :

I think that the message is pretty much self explaining, right? It seems that you haven't installed Hotspots??? This file is not exisitng: com_hotspots\includes\defines.php and it should be there if hotpots is installed.

it's good it works. I thought installing the plugin alone enough.
For cons I have a question. Is it possible to display the marker profile of a CB, not all markers of all profiles. What I want is to display for each CB profile its own google map with its own marker without showing the others.

Can you give me a response please.

So what exactly do you want to display from CB? I'm a little bit confused?

Can you explain again what you are trying to achieve and maybe give us some links?

Do I want it to display each page of profile position only according to its address. Now the plugin displays a profile page any position other profiles. Basically to show only one position in the google map for a given profile

I have troubles understanding what you want...

The only thing that the hotspots plugin is supposed to do is to show the Hotspots that a user has made on a small map in the profile. The users visiting that user profile can click on the map and then go to the main map.

I don't understand what you are trying to achieve, but as I said - the only thing that the plugin is supposed to do is described above. If it is not doing that, then there is a bug.

I try to run the plugin but I can not. I searched the documentation on your site but I can not find anything.
FYI, I installed and activated the plugin "CB Get information field" and put "Select a field from CB" on firstname. On the other side I installed the component and creates a hotspot called class store. In Community Builder I selected the tab "Hotspots".
When I go to a profile of a user I visualize well the tab hotspot but I have a error message that appears that says: The user HAS Not Submitted Any hotspots.

Yet in Community Builder at the "Field Management" I have indicated in the fields for an address, postal code and city.

I still continue to think that you are mixing something up. Our CB plugin doesn't have fields such as "Get CB information field"??? Please go to the download section and download the "Hotspots Plugin for CB" compojoom.com/downloads/hotspots/hotspots-2-0-5 .

The error message that you mentioned in your post is not really an error message. It is just a notification, that the user hasn't submitted a hotspot! Log into your backend go to -> components->hotspots->markers-> create a new hotspot. Now go to your frontend and open your own user profile -> now you should see the hotspot on the map in the profile.

If you wish to provide me with access to your website then go to support->ticket system -> select hotspots and create a new private ticket.

I have create a new hotspot marker on hotspot component. This is OK. But I can't download the hotspot plugin for CB on your site. When I enter this url on my navigator : compojoom.com/downloads/hotspots/hotspot...lugin2zip?format=raw . I have a cloud web page. I have wait one hour and I can't download the plugin too.

Sorry for my question before, I confused your plugin with another plugin.
Can you send me on my email the hotspot plugin for CB on a zip file please.

Just a question. With your plugin component hotspot, is it possible that an owner of a CB profile can change its address, postal code and city from the frontend of the website and not the backend.

I ask this because apparently the address, zip code and city should be built into the hotspot component and not from CB. I do not know if those informations are editable from the frontend in the user profile.

I think that you've mistaken the purpose of Hotspots and the CB plugin.

Think of Hotspots like a directory component. You show a map for example of your site - you have categories such as bars, restaurants etc. You and the users are able to add Hotspots to the map and this way you build a bigger directory full of useful addresses.

The CB plugin on the other hand - it just shows the already submitted hotspots from a specific user.

In its current version Hotspots has nothing to do with the user's location - nothing! We don't look at the street and country information stored in CB.

If the user wants to show his location on the map, then he has to go to the submit location form and manually submit his location.

I have uninstall the hotspot component and the cb plugin hotspot and re-install them. All the install are ok but that's doesn't work on the frontend. I have this message : The user has not submitted any hotspots.

For information I have activated on CB the hotspot tab and the plugin hotspot for CB on the backend. After that, I have create a category with 2 htospots on the hospot component (on components Manager of the backend). But after that I can't see the google map on the frontend.

If you want I can give you my url website with the admin url if you wish to see my configuration.

So, you've checked the profile of the user that has created the hotspots?

If userA creates a hotspot. Then when you visit userA's profile you should see the map with the user's hotspot. But if you visit userB's profile you should see "the user has not submitted any hotspots" because actually the user hasn't submitted any hotspot...

It is part of the hotspots package. It should be installed together with the extension. If you are on joomla 3.0 please use the latest dev version as there was a bug in the CB plugin.
