TOPIC: Addvertisment on the map with 2 icons for each category

map like this is a good way for advertise and monetize localy

it will be interssant to have 2 types of icons in each category :

1) a "public one" : all the users could add an hotspot on the catgeory and all hotpsots have the same icons

2) an "admin" one : in the same category admin can add some sponsored hotspot (in back end ?) with an icon maybe a little bit bigger or different, with more visibility (just change the color but not all the icons)

i need it quickly ! my only way to survive ....

Hopefully that feature will be coming in next release.

I'm not agree with you ! it's different to have just 2 sub categories ! it s t a specail admin category in each category who is published only by admin in back end and with a special icon to advertise.

if you have 2 subcategories all the people may add some hotspot in the both subcategories and i wouldn't like that !
or get something in each category or sub categories : "only admin new hotspots" or "allow public new hostpsot" (now it s for all category or nothing)

so it's : subcategories and posibility to allow or not public hotspot for each categories/subcategories !

i think we have to do that for the next release because it have a great potential : you can advertise localy !

I never mentioned a subcategory in that topic, it's all about a second icon/image/marker inside the same category.

The categories are represented by one icon, and it could be nice to have multiple options. For example: I have the category: Banks, but we have different banks and i want to represent them with different icons under the same category without the necessity to create an extra category. Do you understand what i mean?

i read all the topic before post ! but what is different with my systeme, is to psecify for each category or icons if "public hotspot" is allowed.

exemple :

inside the category "restaurant" :

- a public icon : evrybody could add his hotpsot like "i like this restaurant ..."
- a admin icon : add only by admin in back end to advertise restaurant on the map ,( maybe same icon but a little bit bigger ...)

is it clear ! not only a question of category but allow public hotspot or not for each category. now it's posible to allow for all category or for nothing ...

Lets take restaurant as category.

Anyone can add a restaurant to that category, and the system(hotspots) will assign an specific icon/marker to that entry on the map.

But if that person pays (to look different on the map), then the administrator can change the default icon for a different one.

yes exactly !

so you can mix on the same map public hotspot and paid hotspot on a same category !

so you get the both : a free participative map and the possibility to get money on advertising !

imagine the category restaurant :

- a public icon (16*16px) and all people could add some hotpsot with this ocn
- in the same category restaurant, another icon (32*32 px) only add by admin in back end for advertising !
