Google maps zoom out to display all the results from your search query. Hotspots doesn't do that and it makes customers click 20 times to zoom out to see all the results. Using the demo page, when you do a search, the zoom level stays the same, leaving outside the screen some search results. The problem is even bigger when using a close-up of the map. In that case, you have to move around or zoom out to find the rest of the search results that are out of the screen.

Also, when you click on 'Marker Center', the zoom level covers the whole planet.

Any solution?

Yep, I read the post yesterday as well :) Will try to come up with a fix for the zoom till friday. If there are no hotspots in the visible area -> zoom out the user.

As far the marker center is concerned -> we load the lat and long of all hotspots available on the map and pass it to the boundary function -> google maps then decides how much to zoom out. Can it be that your locations are dispersed around the globe?

Using the demo page, if you click on 'Marker Center', the hotspots are displayed in a double map, and that's wrong.

My locations are only from my city, no reason to show the whole globe in a double map.

I'm very close to cracking the search issue... However gmaps is playing hard again...

As far the marker center is concerned. The marker center is centering on all markers. On our demo page we have markers in any single location of the world. So in order for google to show those, it needs to zoom out.

If you have location only in europe, the map should only zoom out on Europe.

Daniel

3.5.5 released. Now the zoom auto adjust when there are 0 results in the current view. We first try to find hotspots in a 100miles radius of the current map center. If there are none, then we look at the entire databse.

Daniel
