TOPIC: Can to upload / use new category icons / pins

Hello,
it is not possible for me to select a new icon or pin for hotspots. It shows me only a "broken" image.


So the pins are not shown on the map. See the attached files


I had to choose a sample icon ... so that the users still can use the map.... but they or not so nice like my own ones

Can somebody help me with that?

Shit: Have recognized that this is the wrong Forum. This is a hotsspot bug... but I dont know how to move it ... Daniel can you move it to the right forum. Thanks

Right click on the image in the category edit - what is the path?
How did you upload it? Did you use the custom marker option, selected your icon and than saved the category?
Are the folders in media/com_hotspots writable?

Hello Daniel,

after your question I was able to fixt the problem. But I´m not sure where it comes from.

I uploaded the icons like allways nothing special. And it says "succesfully uploaded to media/com_hotspots/images/categories/1353748836_E_Kanutour_Pin_blue_H40.png" for example.

But if i check the permission attributes with filezilla from this picture it has "600". After changing to "644" it works like I expected.
But why? I dont know?
I,m using Joomla 2.5.8 and tryed with chrome and firefox

Thanks a lot for the quick replay and I like hotspots more and more (ok not last night) and I think after the next relase from Hotspots I will change also the other canoeing countries to the hotspots components

aha, I've seen that problem from time to time. I think that it is the server that determines the permissions of the file. Searching google also shows that other people are experiencing this with suPHP???
