TOPIC: Error Message: You have no rights to add a hotspot

Hi Daniel,

I moved Hotspot Submission Layout to a different menu and changed permissions.
Following that it gave Error Message: You have no rights to add a hotspot.
I restored it with no success.
I then deleted it and implemented an new instance of Submission Layout but I'm still getting the same error.

Hey Nev,
Is this version 3 or version 2? In version 2 the only setting you have is in the settings screen. In version 3 - you have some more things to choose from... so which version it is

Hi Daniel,
The only Hotspots available for me to download is 2.0.5
My subscription is active until 2013.
I installed it on Joomla! 2.5.6
If there is a version 3 Hotspots where can I download it from since my subscription is active?

I searched around a bit and found vs 3 is still in Beta.
I'm looking forward to its release.

Meanwhile I uninstalled the existing 2.5 and will hold off reinstalling it until I hear from you with best advice.

I remember that there was a bug with 2.0.5 and joomla 2.5:

This is already fixed in 3. Version should be released next week.

Hi Daniel,

I still have a problem when a user tries to add a hotspot, they are getting the 404 message.

Here are both links parameters i have tried;

index.php?option=com_hotspots&view=hotspot&layout=form

index.php?option=com_hotspots&view=form&layout=form

Any ideas please?

Hey Keith,
When are the users getting the error? When they submit the hotspot, or when they go to the submit layout? (from 3.0 up the correct url for the form is view=form (maybe just create a new menu link - if you see 2 submit forms there -> go to components/com_hospots/view/hotspot/tmpl/ and delete the form.xml from there))

Hi Daniel,

When i login as admin on the front end i can add a hotspot but when i login as a registered user i get the 403 message.

I am pointing the user to the "Hotspot Submission Layout" in the menu

Hi.

I am having exactly the same issue. On Hotspots Pro 3.51, though. I can open the submission form when logged in as an admin, but I get a 403 error if I attempt it logged on as a registered user.

You will need to create a user to be able to access the link and see the error.
