I'm somewhat disappointed by this answer...I'm not the first person with problems in IE7. Each time you told people to look at their template for the error. It definetely semms to be a positioning problem. You only have to look at the CSS stating:

As a matter of fact I can see Hotspots working on Joomla 1.5.x on your demo site, not 1.7.x. I even did set up a test installation without any changes and only the standard Joomla templates. There were problems too...everything in #hotspots-navigation is messed up in IE7: slide-bar, icons and search box are out of place. Is
In matter of fact IE7 is the next browser to die after IE6....
