Re: Use of undefined constant template

Hi, I'm having a problem with Hot Spote at the minute, basiccaly I'm getting lots of messages like this

"Notice: Use of undefined constant template - assumed 'template' in C:\wamp\www\MNS\components\com_hotspots\views\all\view.html.php on line 18"

Any ideas please?

Richard

Hey Richard,
Those a just notices and are not errors. Those messages indicate that we can write our code better, but they should not actually bother you. Is this on your localhost or on a production site?

You can go to your site global configuration->server->error reporting ->set it to none or simple . This should make those notices disappear.

Hi Daniel, thanks for the prompt reply, unfortunately that has not solved the problem.

I am using a localhost (Wampserver) running php 5.3.

As well as the 'error messages' I also have No maps showing. I tried turning on 'legacy', but that made no difference.

Any other suggestions please?

Cheers, Richard

Hey Richard,
Well since this is your localhost just find the php.ini file and change the warning setting in it. I promise you that the next version will show 0 notices :)

Hi Daniel,

Just a quick update. It seems that Hot Spots doesn't like php 5.3. I'm now running 5.2 and all the error messages have gone :)

I'm now waiting for the "Loading Data" to complete.

Thanks for your help so far though,

ps. Now working Great :D
Regards, Richard

Hey Richard,
That is awesome :) I think, that I'll have to start to develop on 5.3 - my development environment is running php5.2, because several months ago as fas as I remember joomla had problem with 5.3. :)
Thanks for the info!
Daniel

Hi Daniel, glad I could be of some help, but also thankyou for your quick replies and guidance.

I'm posting a review today ;) and look forward to seeing how what to me, is a potentially very useful component develope.

I'm going to post a few requests and wishes later that will really be useful to me and hopefully others.

All the best, Richard

Looking forward to the update though, I've just installed CBSubs so that's keeping me occupied for now.
I havn't forgotten about writing the Useer Guide, bit tied up at the min though, I'll be in touch ;)
