I recently purchased Hotspots and love the extension; however, I need the "read more" link to load a K2 article. I've seen mention that this is possible on the web, but I can't find a plug-in to download or a script to change in order to make this possible. Please advise!

Thank you!

Well, if you use the 3.0 series you can go to plugins -> hotspotslinks - k2 -> enable it

Then in the backend when you create/edit a hotspot you have the option to link to k2 -> just enter the id of the article and voila.

Daniel

Thanks! That was easy. One more question:

Now they are directed to a non SEF url that loads k2 item page that loads without any of the sidebar modules. Is it possible to modify the plugin so that it loads the k2 item with the other content (as specified by the module assignments? In other words:

Instead of the read more going here: /parks/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=6:skate-park-opening

could it direct them here: /component/k2/item/6-skate-park-opening

Is there any easy way to accomplish this?

Hey Ryan,
I've just fixed this. Please download the latest dev release from here:
compojoom.com/component/ars/repository/dev-hotspots

and let me know if it works for you as well.

Kind regards,
Daniel

Thanks Daniel! It seems to be working great! Thanks for going out of your way and responding soe quickly! I'll be leaving a review on the joomla extension site once we go live with our site.

Thanks!

Do you have a demo with hotspots and K2
I am currently using styleware.eu/store/item/7-styleware-k2-maps

which automatically creates a map in each k2 category page and K2 item page

I can also add the map coordinates in my k2 items admin.

Can hotspots do the same or at least a simple process.

I am interested in switching to hotspots as it seems to have some great features but want to ensure that it is fully integrated with K2.

Hey Sanjiv,
I'm afraid that Hotspots doesn't integrate in that way with K2. In fact the only part that "integrates" is that whenever you create a new hotspot in the backend you can link it to a k2 entry. So when the user reads the map -> he can click on the readmore button for a hotspot and he will land in k2 item view.
That is all.
We don't use the k2 categories or anything else.

Daniel
