I am trying to import a KML file, but at the end of the import, all i get is a "0 locations imported" (see screenshot). I just updated my hotspots today to the latest version. Attached is my KML file.
-Thanks

Where did you get this KML file from? The problem is that your placemarks don't have a point. And if the placemark doesn't have a point we don't import it. The point contains lat & lng coordinates. In your case it seems that you just have an address. I'm not sure if we should support this format.

Regards,
Daniel

Hello,
OK, I found an online service that geocodes from adress data. I then re-imported that into google maps and the import works fine now.
-Thank you

OK, well, I thought I had something that worked, after inspecting, that "free online geocoding" wasn't as acurate as i need it. it only located up to the ZIP code, and not the exact address. So I did find a way to get a KML file with the coordinates. The google Earth application will output a KML file with long/lat, however, it doesn't seem to import into hotspots. Please see the attached document and let me know if there is anything I can do to get this to import.
-Thanks

Any Suggestions for this?

After Trying Multiple KML files (some with coordinates some without) it seems taht there are many structures available for KML. (although they all claim to be KML v2.2). Is there a recommended structure for the KML to work properly?
-Thanks

That is exactly the issue. There are lot of different options and we don't support all of them. It's currently on the basis: show me the file, let me make it work. The question is how many different options are there? I cannot figure out a way to intelligently find the points. Right now it's hardcoded -> look for folder, look for placemarks, look for points.

So you have created this KML file with google earth? Can you explain to me why you have MultiGeometry points? Do you have some circles around the poitns or what?

Regards,
Daniel

Hello,
Thanks for checking it out. Yes, I understand the difficulty with so much variation. This is why I suggested, wanted a sample file that would be a blueprint for your import. After many trial and errors, I configured something that at least gets the points into the system with longitude/latitude and title/description. However, the actual street, city, state address is missing and I have to open up all 500 of my entries to get it to auto-generate.

Concerning the "Mutli-Geometry", I really have no clue how or why that was included in the google earth output. To get that KML file, I simply uploaded my street address CSV to google earth and allowed it to plot the coordinates from those physical addresses.

-Thanks again
