TOPIC: Hotspot Links not working - Joomla 3

Hi Just reposting this question as previously it was part of another subject

I can't for the life of me get the hotspot links to work on our new Joomla 3 site. I think we had a problem with them on the old site suddenly, but I've now rebuilt the site in Joomla 3 using a fresh install and importing data using SPUpgrade. I've installed a new copy of Hotspots and have been unable to import the locations, so I've set up a couple of them anew.

I end up always on the home page when I click the links.

The URL is: www.character-cottages.com/jom3/regions

On the first hotspot I've tried putting the link in as an absolute URL, the second as a relative.

Hey Andrew - you are trying to link the hotspot to an external link, right?
Is the "hotspots link - external" plugin enabled?

thanks for the reply. Actually just need to link to the articles on the site, not external.

I have Hotspots Links - Articles enabled already. I have now tried enabling the external links plugin to if the absolute URL works (which is still on the site), but it didn't.

PS Something odd is happening to the links:
Absolute link:
www.character-cottages.com/jom3/?id=http...ia/hafod-y-rhedrwydd

Relative link:
www.character-cottages.com/jom3/?id=129

All you need to do is to provide the id of the article you want to link to -> not the full url. Hotspot should then create a correct link.

Doohhh! You make it too easy.

Was expecting something much more complicated.
