Purchased, installed just now. Created a category, created a hot spot, created a menu link to the map but the map itself is not showing up. Can't get much more newbie than this and I appreciate anyone pointing out what I'm missing. (sorry in advance)

That is all actually, but your page generates JS errors:
ReferenceError: options is not defined
[Break On This Error]

new Slidex(options);

The error is comming from those lines:
<!-- Info Slide script - JS and CSS called in header -->
		<script type='text/javascript'>
	new Slidex(options);
	</script>

Do you get an idea which script that is? If you turn it off most probably the map will work.

Thank you for your reply. It is part of the template so I have posted the reference in their forum. I'll post back when I hear something on that end.

Thanks again for your time.

OK, got that fixed and the map still doesn't show. I get the error on the maps pages that I don't get on others so I'm thinking it's related to the component?

I placed a break on this error and looked at the call stack when it occured. I'm not sure which script causes this, but the last calls to this file have something to do with the Date function. The only place where I see a date shown is the weather module on the right. Try to turn it off and let me know if it causes the problem?

Thanks,
Daniel

That was the first thing that I did (disabled any outside modules on the page) and it had no effect. I'll do so again here to illustrate and thanks for having a look.

I have removed that module to illustrate.

It always stupid when there are problems like this.
We need to figure out what causes the error on the page. I would proceed like this:
disable all modules till the map starts to work (including the navigation). If after disabling all modules it is still not working, I would change the template to a default one.
Once we've figured out what causes this, then we can think on a fix. Also a good think to do would be to turn debug mode on -> this will load the uncompressed js libraries and we will get a better idea which line causes the problem. Right now the line in mootools-more is compressed and I have no idea what the code there is actually doing.

OK, I have gone through all of the modules... or at least believe that I have, that could be displayed on that page and disabled them and I am unable to see the map. When I use another template the map shows so I know it has to be something with the template it is from one of the better providers IMO Shape5.

I have turned on the debug mode and was hoping that you might take another look. If you'd like admin access please let me know and I'd be happy to provide it.

Your component looks perfect for my needs but unfortunately the template is as well.

Thanks again for your time and please let me know how to best proceed.

I FOUND IT! It was in the "Enable Multibox?" in the Vertex Framework of the S5 Template (for anyone else using Shape5 that runs into any trouble).

Thanks for your willingness to check out the site but hopefully things are straightforward from here. I'll disable the user but leave it... just in case (smiley here).

Thanks again for all of your time with this thread!

Wow, I just saw your email, logged on your site. Went to the template and started playing with the option. Went to the menu options and disabled -> and voila! The map was loading! So I though - hm that is the menu! So I changed few options there and it was working, but it turns out that you it is the "enable multibox"!

Cool, glad you found and that you can now use the extension :)

Cheers,
Daniel

P.S. Don't forget to leave a review about the extension over here: extensions.joomla.org/extensions/maps-a-...-locations/maps/9468

Thanks again, no need to reply unless there are options in the menu that should be changed back and will submit a review just as soon as I get my feet wet with the component.

Related note however... how do I enable driving directions?

Go to the menu item and then select the option to show the menu on the right.
