Hi everyone,
I just buy the HotSpot and i got some question.
1.I got CB installed and i want when i see a map the authors name be clickable so if someone wanna contant with him can easily open his profile page.
2.How can i have rating and commnents at an hotspot?
3.When an not registered user trying to see a map or add a hotspot, it redirect him at Error: 403 page. How can i change this and make it redirect at register page with a message eg "please register first"?
4.Where can i change the quick-search so it can search streets or cities, and not categories(or at least how can i disable it)
5.I want to choose what category hotspot i wanna create by menu and not in New Hotspot form. For example i wanna got menu items like Add Restaurant, Add Cafe etc and when i click them to redirect me at an New Hotspot form with selected the category that i already choose in menu.
6. How can i add a new item in New hHtspot form at front end?

Exellent work by the way. Till now works like charm.
P.S.Sorry for my bad english.

Hey Vasilakakis,

1. This is not possible right now. But it will be in the next release.
2. You cannot have ratings, but you can have comments if you use CComment ( compojoom.com/joomla-extensions/compojoomcomment - currently compatible only with j2.5, but in a week we should have the first beta for 3.0)
3. Check the FAQ section in the hotspots documentation. I've explained what needs to be done
4. The quick search and normal search is already searching in the street, zip etc -> you need to have locations on the street that you look for
5. This is unfortunately not possible right now
6. I don't understand this question, would you try to explain again what you want to achieve?

Kind regards,
Daniel

First of all thanks for your fast response. :cheer:

1. I can't w8 for it :) when can we expect the new update?
2. I'll be honest and i hope to not make you mad, but i can't accept that i payed 47euro with taxes and i must pay 33+taxes more euros for just a comment system... :( I think that the comments system in hotspot is kind of necessary. Without a comment system it's looks like incomplite.
3. I don't wanna make unregister users to can see or add new hotspot. I want when they try to, to redirect them to the register form page.(For now i gonna bypass the problem by editing the menu items and create an Guest user group)
4. I got only one hotspot now. When i search for 69100(the zip) he said that "We are sorry, but we couldn't find a hotspot matching your search criteria".
5. My employer want to be like this. :( I take a look by my own and if i find a way to bypass it i post it here.
6. Well, i'll be more specific. I want to remove the photo upload bar and the text editor and create a new field for comments(authors comment) which gonna look like the Name Field(just an empty box without text editor).

Thanks a lot for your time.

P.S. At CB user profile, when i try to see users hotspot the map doesn't loaded properly(both Chrome and Firefox). It load just a small part at top left and the rest stay grey.

1. soon
2. Well, unfortunately this ain't going to happen. Hotspots cannot be everything. I've put thousands of hours on ccomment5 . I cannot do the same work over and over for every component.
3. Have a look at this tutorial: www.socialmessage.in/index.php/articles/...login-page-in-joomla - you can show a link to regiter/login for users that are not allowed to submit hospots and a link to submit a hotspot to the users that are logged in.
4. The search always searches in the currently visible area. On our demo site when I'm on germany and I search for 76275 - I get the hotspot with this ZIP
5. You'll need to hack the component.
6. Same as 5. This is something that the component does not support...

About CB - the map plugin for CB should be published in the first tab -> it should be visible when you load the page. The problem is that the CB tabs don't fire any event on click and I have no way to initialize the map when a specific tab is clicked. The map is initialized on a page load, but since it is not visible -> the dimensions of the map are not correct -> that is why you just see a small part of it on the top left...

Regards,
Daniel

I solved the problem with CB thanks to your help.

About 5.6) still i can't locate the file which construct the form for the New Hotspot at front end. I try in /public_html/administrator/components/com_hotspots/models/forms/marker.xml but this change only the backend form for a new hotspot and doesn't affect the frontend form.
If you can suggest me where can i look, it's gonna be great.
Thanks a lot again

I don't understand how you managed to affect the presentation without modifying the layout files
components/com_hotpsots/views/form/tmpl/form.php (for the frontend)
The file is using the marker.xml but without telling to it which field to display and where adding new fields to marker.xml shouldn't change anything.

Daniel
