Hello again,

I am using HotSpot 3.2.2 and Community Builder. But I can seem to find out how a user would edit any of their HotSpot submission(s) or comment(s) - I am also using JoomComment?

Is there a plugin or module for this?

Thank you kindly for your help!!

Hey Mike,
Create a new menu item and point it to hotspots-> userhotspots . There should be an option to delete and edit.

I don't know about JoomComment as we are not the creators of that component.

Regards,
Daniel

Once again Daniel, Thank you! Sometimes I make things more difficult than it really needs to be! :side:

I was thinking there would be a Tab inside of the users profile of Community Builder. Then again that would be handy, do you know if this is possible or in your road map?

Cheers!!

Dear Daniel

I tried what you have described in your post (#19395). I am using hotspots 3.4 (stable) + dev-version 'com_hotspots-git_60ca8d1'. A list with my own hotspots will be displayed, that's O.K. But unfortunately there are no buttons/options to edit or delete one of my hotspots - not on the list, not on the hotspot details page, not on the marker flyout...

Please advise and thanks in advance.

Meik

Yea, the CB plugin doesn't have this option. If you create a new menu link pointing to userhotspots, then there should be an edit button.
I'll add a "edit button" option on the todo list for the CB plugin.

Thank you for your answer Daniel.

It doesn't matter that this option is not available in the CB plugin.

My problem was, that I already created a new menu link and pointed it to userhotspots (like you described it), but couldn't find an edit button (the hotspots were displayed correctly)?!?

Thanks for your help.

This is what I have:
awesomescreenshot.com/00d1et2g1c

Can you inspect with firebug and see if the image is for some reason hidden?

O.K. it seems to be difficult...

I checked it, but can't find any hint for an image in the source code (of my screenshot page):
<tbody>
<tr>
<td>
1
</td>
<td><a href="/index.php/de/test-hotspots/1-member-s-ropes-courses-mitglieder-seilgaerten/2-rc-pfunds-tirol">
RC Pfunds/Tirol
</a>
</td>
<td>

</td>
</tr>
</tbody>

If you want I can give you access for an registered user (or Superadmin if needed) to check it out by yourself?! If you would like to do so, I will send it by email.

Regards
Meik

O.K. it seems I found a track in the right direction ...

If the hotspot marker is owned by the SuperAdmin the pencil (edit button) will be displayed. Unfortunately that's not working for a user which is set (only) as 'Registered'.... even if I set both of the 'hotspot permissions' (option: edit; option: delete) as 'ALLOWED'.

Additionally it seems that the 'edit-option' will be displayed when a user is assigned to the 'Author'-group... more needs to be tested...

Have you got an idea for a solution? I don't like the idea to set all my 'Registered' users as 'Authors'...

Hear you soon and best regards
Meik

Now I checked the entries at the assets table. And so far all modifications done in the backend form (hotspots markers -> hotspots permissions) can be found correctly under 'rules' (assets table):
e.g. if I would 'Allow' a registered user to edit his hotspot marker:
{"core.delete":{"6":1},"core.edit":{"6":1,"2":1,"4":1}}

So maybe a processing php script does not accept such individual permissions.
I think I need your help.

:) SOLVED - o.k. it's solved and clarified - I'am happy !

I solved it with a change in the hotpots main configuration (!!!) 'Default Permissions' settings. I set 'Registered' users to 'Allowed' for 'editing own entries'. That's it.

It seems all other modifications done in the backend-marker-form (via field 'Permissions' + button 'Set Permissions') has no effect on the actual permission settings.

Sorry for the turbulences and best regards
Meik
