Hi Guys,

Just purchased Hotspots, works fantastic. great work - but I dont think this topic is being covered for the people who want to use a simple external link in the "read more" link.

I've tried to implement the snippets of code in a previous post, but having the external link in the description editor using the sobi2 selection in the drop down, just doesnt work.

when you put a link in the editor, it always places a < p > < / p > tag around the URL and once it is clicked i recieve a 404 error.

I think this is a pretty simple function to ask, again, it works great. no issues. just i can't get these links to work, i've tried to shut off sh404sef plugin for com_hotspots - and it still does not work.

thanks.

I'll add this option to version 3.

If you want to have an external link in version 2 you will have to disable the editor - this way it won't place the <p> tags there.

this might be a really dumb question, but how do i disable the editor? via the plugins i am guessing. there is no way to do it in the hotspots components backend i assume.

will i have to keep the editor disabled for this to work or will it have to be temporarily off when i am adding hot spots.?

Hey Javed,
The plugin needs to be disabled only when you edit the hotspot. The JCE plugin has a nice feature where you can click on -> disable editor when you edit a content item. With other editors you will have to turn it off before going into the hotspot.
Kind regards,
Daniel
