Hi Daniel,

Do you have scheduled the new release for a specific date?

Second time, same question:

Do you have scheduled the new release for a specific date?

Sorry Eliecer,
I'm about to write a blog post about what is getting in the way and why it is not released so far. Wanted to do this blog post for the last month...

Hi Daniel,
Interesting article (blogpost), and you make good points.

In my case, I prefer to fix implemented features and suggest new ones. If you don't want to implement the marker clusters then don't do it, but there are tons of client that will never reach or pass the amount of 5000 markers per category. A better solution will be to implement it in the backend, inside each category like a checkmark. If the client wanna use it then he will activate it via the checkmark.

My concerns are related with the mobile version, and the next release of hotspots. The marker clusters are not bugging me at all. Everyone is going to mobile version these days, and we are stuck here still talking about clusters that have been around for a while now.

Keep the good work man.

Hi man,

Long time and nothing new is happening to hotspots.

The site https://dev.compojoom.com/projects/hotspots/activity is showing 'NO' activity from October 27, 2011. Almost 3 months?

Is hotspots still part of your projects? If not, let us know to search for another options.

There are good features available with Google API V3 and none of them are part of hotspots, and this API version has been around for a while now. So, when this features will be available in hotspots? Do we have to wait for Google API V4 to see the features from Google API V3 in hotspots?

Please, keep us updated, otherwise the speculations will be everywhere.

Wow, Eliecer! Happy new year to you too :)

I understand your disappointment and I would feel the same way if I was a user of the component. (in matter of fact - I feel the same way with a lot of joomla components)... Don't look at the dev site anymore. I'm in process of moving everything to assembla.

I'm also updating the compojoom website and moving it to cloudacces.net ... Next week, when you see the design of the new website you will understand that Hotspots has a BIIIIIG priority here ;)

You know well that it took me a year to move from version 1 to 2, sadly I was unable to speed the process with version 3, but as usual you can be sure that once it is out - you will be amazed ;)

When I finish with the transition of the project tracker to assembla.com you'll get access to the project there.

Cheers,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Long time no speak, Happy New Year and happy new life to you wherever you are in the world at the moment.

I have been sitting and waiting for the new features which have been promised (OK - I won't hold you to ALL your promises), but I have to say that Hotspots gets close to providing all the functions that I need, but I too am getting concerned that not much appears to be happening. I am sure that you are working hard at it, but it would be good to at least have a beta to start playing around with.

Regards,

Bruce.

Well, it's been 4 months sincelast answer to this, over a year since 2.05 (as my subscription run just when it was released, and haven't renewed till now...

When can we expect an updated version?

Good point of hotspots is be very well finished, with very little bugs (sometimes a bit strange behaviour but nothing important), so, if no further development, it feels stupid to keep paying subscriptions ;)

I'm currently running latest git 5e804a7 and it does run pretty well, but not even there, with the new backend, can't feel any change from 2.0.5...

Hey Johnny,
I've never forced anyone to buy it in the first place or renew the subscription after that.
If you don't feel that version 3 will bring you any features or advantages then don't renew it.
You can read about what is new in this blog post:
compojoom.com/about/blog/entry/hotspots-3-beta1-released

Hotspots is actively developed! Unfortunately due to the slow release cycle some people get the wrong impression. I understand that people want to see updates each month and I have taken a note of this and things are going to change in that direction!

Cheers,
Daniel

P.S. And I just saw that Eliecer has made 372 posts!!! Wow, thank you very much for your support so far!!!

Didn't said you did, in fact said the opposite, haven't renewed after around 3-6 months of expiration till I needed for a new project ;)

Said that counting the little bugs, updates have not been needed, and felt a bit like throwing money to keep subscription active ;)

Ok, so I'll try hard to introduce bugs in version3 so that you can feel better subscribing :D:D:D (joking)

I'm not trying to hook people for life you know :) If the component does what you want and you don't need any new features or support than you are fine without a subscription. Don't get me wrong! I'm happy to accept your money :) and rest assured that it will be used for good deeds :)

Cheers,
Daniel

P.S. And you can always subscribe again in an year when you start a new website or you need something that the current version is missing :)
