TOPIC: Release date of version 1.1?

Hallo Daniel,

I like Hotspots very much. Can you tell me something about the release date of version 1.1? I am very interested in the new features called in the roadmap.

It will be released before the jandbeyond conference in May (the same is also true for compojoomComment).

Also I have some features planned that are not in the roadmap, but they will make it in 1.1 .

The jandbeyond was 6.th. - 8. th. May.. but i can't seem to find version Hotspots 1.1 and the module in the download section?

Unfortunately, because of some unforeseen problems, the new versions could not be finished before the JandBeyond conference. Daniel is on his way back from the conference and will be back in the office today. I'm sure he'll do his best to get the release version done as soon as possible. Please bear with us

well, it's been almost a month since last update to this post, any news?

We would love to get some info, specially j1.6 support! j1.7 is about to appear soon!

We should also be 1.6 compatible and since 1.7 will be joomla 1.6.4 with few updates we should be also 1.7 compatible.

Yes, I agree its looking great and sir you have a two wonderful products which really add amazing functionality to my site. However, you are man that does not like to be pressed on these issues. If you could provide a little more information or even a better time-frame as to when things will happen then your customers, ie., myself and I suppose others, can plan our site upgrades to Joomla 1.6 or J1.7 better. Currently I have most of the Components on my Joomla site upgraded to J1.6 and guess which component I am waiting for to be J1.6 ready.?

I have a personal and business commitment to have my site Joomla 1.6 ready for release to my community by the end of July. If the Hotspots module is not ready by then, I will have to make a judegement call as to whether to drop the feature altogether and move ahead with migrating the site to J1.6 without the Map feature this year.

I can be flexible with my plans by about one or two weeks, ie., delay things until perhaps the first week of August, but of course in this vacuum of information it makes it hard to decide what is best to do. So Daniel, why can you not simply say that Hotspots will be released at a specific date. Don't tell us, it will be" ready when it is ready" or be vague with your answer because that only annoys your customers.

@Techknow - if you plan to release your site by the end of july I have to tell you that by then joomla 1.6 is not going to be supported anymore...

I know how annoying the answer "ready when it is ready" is and I don't like to hear it myself, but I understand the developers that say it now much better, than I used to do one year ago

This week I finally moved over the 50% readiness rate Most of the features that are there are for the most part implemented and there are small things to be made (another 50-60h...).... I expect hotspots to be ready by the end of the next week... So what I expect is not to be taken as granted... BUT I'M COMMITTED TO ONLY HOTSPOTS RIGHT NOW! I WANT TO FINISH it and enjoy life again
