Sorry, I see that the sample icons are .png, but when I try to load my own they don't show up. The same ones worked on the old version so I am suprised.

Daniel, the site's URL is expressivearth.com. There are two things I am expereincing:
1. The test marker does not show on the map when you click that category, and
2. I can find where I am supposed to load my own markers. Do they go in stories, or in another directory?

Thanks,
Jim

Go go the category edit menu. And there you can select if you wish to upload a new image for this category.

Once you do this the image will be automatically uploaded to your site in media/com_hotspots/images

Hi Daniel, I reinstalled and noted that there is a Hostspot media directory. I think I had my read/write permissions incorrect. They are ok now and I have loaded them.

However, the component doesn't appear to be loading in the homepage now. I re-did everything and I would think it would load fine. the categories are loaded, I have the same settings for my component and menu item... WTH did I do?

I see this message:

The category that you have selected in the menu settings doesn't exist - please check the id of the category again

Yeah, but why? I reinstalled the component properly. No matter where I try use the hotspot I get that same message. I have made no changes or customizations.

This wasn't a problem till today. Not sure what I need to do for the system to "see" the hotspot. I didn't know it assigned menu types with a category ID.

Go to menu-> your menu-> your hotspots item. On the right side you should see id of the category( there you should put a valid category id).

Go to components->hotspots->category and find a category that exist, get the id and put it in the menu. Then this message will disappear .

Hi Daniel,
thanks for the help. I think my installing and reinstalling (2-3x) without actually taking the database out too may have been what did it. My correction was to reinstall, then select the option that takes the database out too. Then I removed and reinstalled - presto! it's back and it works! Thanks for you help

You need to update to the latest joomla version - which for joomla 1.5 is I think 26.
After that you need to enable the mootools-upgrade plugin.

Kind regards,
Daniel

Hi Daniel

You need to know that I administer the site has many components for joomla 1.5 installed on it - not a good solution for me.

So ... Let the details:

- System - mootols - version 1.2.5 (the hotspots on another site worked well with him, and then installed it in today and helped, but not solved).
- SCJquery - the version of the hotspots.

- I have the component installed, everything ok.
- I have created the category. ok

When I access the site to see the results, the map does not appear, only the component of the box, the google map does not appear ...

Could understand? What action faster simple and effective to do? I believe and still be able to do what is necessary, just need your guidance.

if you have enabled the mootools upgrade plugin and the map is not working, then most probably there is a js error on your page. (maybe jquery + mootools conflict or something)
The way to find out what js conflicts are on the page is to install firebug for firefox and to look in the console output.

Or you can share a link with us and I can have a look and give you an advice.
Cheers,
Danie
