TOPIC: Nested quotes

Hi,
I would love to see a function to delete neted quotes in comments. I mean after clicking "Quote comment" all quotes inside this comment will be delete.
I hope this will be in next version.

Or maybe it is possible to make right now. I tried to edit function JOSC_quoteResponse() in client.js file (using str.replace function) but it doesnt work

Sorry to disappoint you, but this won't be in the next release and I don't really plan to add it either. The quote function is supposed to do exactly what it does. It works the same way all over the internet. (in forum boards, in comment systems)

Because my users don't get it and they are quoting comment with many quotes inside.
For example (imagine longer text):

author wrote:

author wrote: text

author wrote: text

author wrote: text

author wrote: text

text

It doesn't look pretty in my opinion.

What about removing the quote function all together??? I mean if they cannot understand what quotes does, then there is no sense in having this in the first place...

I can't remove quote function. Just look at example comment on my page and you will see why I wan't to remove nested quotes.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand??? Do you want to remove it or not? First you say that your users don't understand the quote function, then you are showing a comment full of quotes??? So what is the problem?

I just don't want quote in quoute. Users are quouting another comment, next this comment (contains quote) is quoting by another user.

After cliking quoute button, comment should be quoted but without quote inside.

I gave you screen to you see how awful it looks. (one quote - ok, quote in qoute in quote in qoute - not ok )

I hope you understand what I am saying because english isn't my native language.

You would be better of removing the quote button altogether.

I have just done that - for a different reason - but also people tend to go crazy with the quotes button and you end up with ten times more text for people to read - most of it having been quoted numerous times before.
