Users on my site have complained that they aren't getting email notifications when an article they submitted gets commented. I don't blame them! Could we get author notifications in CompojoomComment?

I know other commenting components do this- but I don't really want to switch since I've done a fair amount of styling- and I have a number of comments that would have to be carried over. I can be patient, if I know that's it's coming! ;-)

I think I may have posted this wish before- but I don't see it anywhere. So sorry if it's a duplicate.

Hey Andrea,
I'm sorry that I'm so slow in implementing. There are big changes coming to the whole compojoom.com ecosystem :)

WE have feature requests like yours in our issue tracker. Here is our roadmap:
dev.compojoom.com/projects/roadmap/jocomment - sadly it is overdue... But yes such thing is coming in the next months.

Hello again-

Good to hear that this is coming- like I said I can be patient. I looked at your isue tracker and some of the stuff that's coming up looks really great- like facebook and twitter integrations. I don't see anything specifically for author notification but maybe this is it: Feature #38: Improve e-mail subscription ?

Sadly, I'm still the only one developing the component. Good developers are hard to find those days...
That is why some of the issues don#t have a lot of information - everything is in my head. :)

improve e-mail notifications - here is what I've thought about.
- change the dropdown box to just a checkbox
- the user should be able to unsubscribe from notification just by following a link in the notification mail
- the user should be able to subscribe to a thread just by entering their e-mail address (no need to comment)
- not sure about this, but in the backend it would be useful to see who has subscribed to which article...
- Easily change the text of the email trough the backend.
- author notification

Well, one thing about doing it yourself- is you can do it all your own way. ;-)

These are ALL good improvements. especially: - change the dropdown box to just a checkbox. This appeals to me.
This appeals to me too, from a marketing standpoint, lets me know what is really interesting: - not sure about this, but in the backend it would be useful to see who has subscribed to which article...

Here's a suggestion: these two items:
- the user should be able to subscribe to a thread just by entering their e-mail address (no need to comment)
- author notification

Could maybe be addressed by putting a "subscribe to comments" checkbox in the main header bar of the comments section. Not sure if that's easy, but maybe easier than addressing both these things separately, and maybe only as an interim step.

Another suggestion is that when the notification is sent out, if someone replies to that notification, it would be posted to the article. Because I get so many of these notification replies that I am tired of it now.

Thank you and still waiting for updates.. @Daniel, please hurry up bro. Good luck.
