I ask the same question to Cobalt MintJoomla and get this reply :

Only with hacks of the code.

DO they have integration instruction?

So, what about Compojoom integration instructions ?

Regards.

Hey Michel,
It is the first time that I hear about that guys. I'll need to have a look at their software first to be able to tell you what you need to do. I guess that it shouldn't be that difficult to write the ccomment plugin...

I'll put that on the todo list for next week and will let you know if it is achievable or not.

Btw - is the extension free or do I need a membership to test it out?

Cheers,
Daniel

Daniel,

Thanks for your quick and very positive reply.

Previons versions of Cobalt MintJoomla were called Mighty Resources.

This is a very powerful CCK. The best I think.

The product is free (only special modules and plugins are commercial, but you don't need them).

They already use their own comment system.

MintJoomla is very receptive, as you can see on their forum .

Daniel,

What about MintJoomla Cobalt integration ?

I don't find it in the new CComment release.

Cobalt 8 (Joomla 3 compatible) can use third party comments components. They already integrate with Jcomment, Disqus, Komento,...

Do you plan to integrate it ?

Regards.

Hey Michael,
Sorry for not answering sooner. I'll have a look at the extension & will develop the plugin in the next few days.

Cheers,
Daniel

Hey Michael,
I have troubles setting up cobalt 8.

When I try to submit an entry in the frontend I get "This type not allowed to this section"? Have you experienced this & what am I missing. I have the feeling that it is just broken on joomla 3...

Hi Daniel

Cobalt is a great component, but a parameters nightmare...

You have to assign the Type to the Section :

Edit the section > General Parameters > Submission > Submit Type > Select the Type

I think that the version I'm using just doesn't work well on joomla 3
If you look at the screenshot awesomescreenshot.com/07b1po8q15 you'll see that I don't have a dropdown with options, but a textfield. I had entered the id of my type there, but this doesn't help.

I guess that I'll have to install it on joomla 2.5 to get it to work.
Regards,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Cobalt 8 works very very well with Joomla 3.

DON'T TRY TO DOWNGRADE TO JOOMLA 2.5.

Cobalt is the most powerfull Joomla CCK. But the main problem is configuration with hundred of parameters.

If it doesn't work, you miss something (and it's quite normal...)

I know Cobalt for 4 years and still miss some parameters. So...

Install Minjoomla Cobalt and Mintjoomlat Media Pack.

Create a new <Types>. If you want you can add <Fields> (not mandatory).

Then, create a new <Section>.

Assign the <Types> to this <Section>

That's all.

If you still have problems with Cobalt, I can configure a test website for you, so you can check you config.

Regards.

Michel.

Hey Michael,
When you look at my screenshot - do you also have an input field instead of a dropdown?

You must have a droptown (see my screenshot)

I don't understand why you don't have it.

I install a new basic configuration on my test site. So you can check a working config (I send you the server info by mail).

Regards.
