TOPIC: installation error

hello

just wondering if someone can help me please.
when i try to install compojoomcomment i get the following error.
i cannot work out which module/plugin or even component to uninstall to get rid of this error. can anyone help please. i was going to rename these two folders and install then but i am concerned that something vital may stop working.

Hey Denise,
the error message is telling you what is wrong - there is already a component that installed in components/com_comment
and in administrator/components/com_comment

Do you use a joomlacomment perhaps? go to your extensions->isntall uninstall under the uninstall tab and check if you have joomlacomment or comment extension. Uninstall it first and then install compojoomcomment. Let me know if you need further assistance.

i don't have joomla comment what i do have is Jcomment and i tried urComment too but i un-installed that one.
i am afraid that if i disable the folder things will go wrong - what would you suggest.

ah, now I understand. I have the feeling that one of the components uses exactly the same folder as we do.
components/com_comment and administrator/components/com_comment

That is why you are getting the error message.
You can use an ftp program and connect to your server if you find a com_comment folder - this is the problem. If you want to use compojoomcomment you will have to first uninstall the component that is using this folder and then install compojoomcomment.
