Hello all,

I just installed the CompoJoomComment 4.2 pro on my Joomla website. However during the installation i received an error:
JInstaller::install: Bestand '/home/dewiiom/domains/dewiiombouwen.nl/public_html/tmp/install_4e50d089e5f2a/language/ro-RO/ro-RO.com_comment.ini' bestaat niet.

Installatie component gelukt

Database table `vpo_comment_setting` updated
Database table `vpo_comment` updated
Installed the content plugin
Enabled the content plugin

Now i can't reach the componement since i receive the following error:
Fatal error: Class 'JOSC_utils' not found in /home/dewiiom/domains/dewiiombouwen.nl/public_html/administrator/components/com_comment/models/comments.php on line 79

Hey Alex,
have you updated from a previous version? Such as joomlacomment?

Please log in with ftp and go to administrator/components/com_comment/ - do you see an admin.comment.php file? Please delete it.

If it is still not working after that I think that the fastest way to solve your problem would be providing me with admin access + ftp access to your site. (use the contact us button below to send me the information)

Cheers,
Daniel

No sorry, it's not there. I updated it from an old beta v2

Hey Alex,
You haven't read the documentation before updating, right :) (I also don't do it sometimes ... :))

It says that you should not go and just install the new version over the old one, but you should first uninstall the old version and then install the new one.

Here is my suggestion: Per default the first settings in the comment config is complete uninstall. It is normally set to 0 or no. This setting will make sure that when uninstalling the component the database tables won't be deleted and you when you install the new component it will pick up those tables.

So, I'm nearly 100% sure that you haven't touched this setting. So you should be safe going and uninstalling the extension. BUT, just to be sure - make a backup before that!

Once you have the database backup, go in your joomla backend and uninstall the component. Once you are raedy, go and install the newest version. Once you do this it should start working like it did before :)

If you don't think that you can do all this - just provide me with access to your joomla backend, ftp and mysql and I'll do it for you.

Cheers,
Daniel
