TOPIC: Successful install BUT fatal error

Daniel, can you help. I had an older version installed -- joomlacomment 3.2.6. I just purchased the recent 4.1.8 version and was able to successful install.

However, now none of my comments work, or the component.. On Joomla backend, when trying to access any of the menu items in the component, I get the following error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class JOSC_config in /home/content/88/7374088/html/domain/administrator/components/com_comment/class.config.comment.php on line 43

Hey Santi, you didn't read the documentation.
When updating from joomlacomment you have to first uninstall it and then install compojoomcomment.
Please don't panic. Just go to extensions->install/uninstall and uninstall the component. Then install compojoomcomment and everything should work just fine.

P.S. There is an option in the settings "complete uninstall" -> if it is set to yes it will delete all comments (per default that setting is set to no), but since you cannot access the settings in the backend I would advise you to make a backup of your database first and then uninstall the component.
