I just puchased CompojoomComment, but the installation just hangs. I read the documentation. Does this mean I need to try "method 2"? Or does this sort of failure indicate something else?

Thanks.

with method 2 it will most probably work. Unzip the files, move them to the installation directory, point the installer to it and then install. Let us know if it is working after this.

I'm feeling a little dense at the moment. I just can't get it to work, but I think it might be me this time.

I must not be putting in the path correctly or something.

Is the compojoomcomment4.1.7.stable.zip file the "package"?

I've tried the zipped file and the unzipped contents with the Install from Directory and the Install from URL options...just getting error messages: "Please enter the package directory", and similar.

Sorry...I'm showing my newbiness here. I'm goin to wait 'till I get home and try my home PC...maybe the 1st method will work. Argh!!

well, it doesn't depend on your home PC, but on the server.

Unzip the content of compojoomcomment4.1.7. This unzipped folder should have the comment.xml file in it and other directories such as administrator, langauge etc.

upload this folder to your server and then point the installer to the folder.

For example

if you uploaded the file to media/compojoomcomment - you will have to tell the installer to look in media/compojoomcomment

I was right...I'm an idiot!!

I had the path wrong. Argh!!

Anyway, it appears it's working now. But I have two questions

1) I did get one error message that said a language file...I think ro-Ro...wasn't found.

2) I see that PHP 5.2.2 or later is recommended, but HostGator is running 5.2.14.

You think either of these will be a problem?

By the way...THANKS!! =)

Steve

Great! You got it working - hope you will enjoy it :)

Don't worry about the first message - we will leave only the english language file in the next versions and if you want to install rumanian you will ahve to download it from our site.

About the second - 5.2.14 is bigger than 5.2.2 :)

Cheers and please leave a review here:
