TOPIC: Comment Count Function

In the article view I can see the total comment count. Is it possible to display this comment count in my index page where the most recent posts are listed?

Would I have to edit the template directly (add a query etc)?

The index page? Is this the frontpage? Generally you should automaticall have "(8 comments) write a comment " button on the frontpage or in the blog layout.

Thank you for your quick response. I had disabled it initially from the layout config and had completely forgotten how to re-enable it. Is it possible to add this function (counter) in the header of the article (next to where the date, author, etc is usually found in the index page)?
