Hello,

I need a new commenting system, I am currently using jComments, and I have a few questions about CompojoomComment.

1) Can I do pagination for comments? In other words, if I want a certain number of comments to show up, let's say 15, but I want to leave the given page open for unlimite comments, and I do not want all comments loaded when the page is loaded, but rather tabs for the user to click and then the next 15 comments to be ajax loaded?

2) Do you have a search plug in that allows for the searching of the content within the comments when the user does a search through Joomla's search module/component?

3) Could you provide support to migrate from JComments to CompojoomComment?

4) I see that you have published my partial IP address, is this optional for the administrator. Can I NOT publish the IP address of those who comment?

Thank you,

Hey Veronica,

Thank you for contacting us.

1) Yes you can do pagination for comments. (the option is under layout)

2) Yes, there is a search plugin.

3) Well, I think that you will manage to make the migration without any problem - as there is a graphical interface for this. If you encounter any problems (read bugs) with that I'll help fix them. However if you just want me to make the import (read you don't have the time and want someone else to do it for you) for you I will need to charge you extra for the time.

4) You can publish a partial IP or a full IP or no ip - there is an option in the backend. You can also select for which user groups to show the IP etc.

Hope that this answers your questions and see you on the subscriber side ;)

Daniel

Thank you Daniel,

I am experiencing problems with unsubscribing to the front and comments.

As you indicate in the notification emails, after I received notification of response to comment I went back to comment's page, and twice posted comment indicating "do not notify" but I keep receiving notification.

What am I doing wrong?

How do I effectively unsubscribe from being notified?

Thank you,

Veronica

So you bought the component and you are testing this somewhere???

If it is not working as described, then this is a bug.

Submit a private support ticket and please indicate your ftp details + super admin details and I'll have a look at it.

To be honest - the whole way people should unsubscribe is really lame... It is working that way, because it was coded that way like 7 years ago...

In the next version I plan to have a small email box - the user can submit his email and click unsubscribe, or he will just click a link in his mail...

ahhh, the next version. I can't wait to write it and release it :)

Cheers,
Daniel

Hey Rexet,
This is basically the same question as above. Yes - you can import your jcomments and then you can upgrade to 1.7. The installation and import should take like few minutes...

Cheers,
Daniel

Thank you Daniel,

No, I have not. As I am testing your public commenting: demo.compojoom.com/component/content/art...nity-portal#josc2821

I have followed the instructions to unsubscribe, but every time anyone posts a comment, and these are many b/c a lot of people are testing your commenting system, I receive an email.

As I mentioned, I posted a new comment indicating I "do not notify" but I keep receiving notifications.

Since you mentioned that the way people subscribe/unsubscribe will change in the next version, I am wondering, if I buy this system now, will I be able to get the updated version? When will this new version be released?

Thank you

Aha, thank you for getting back to me. That is strange! I'll test it on my localhost and will try to confirm that bug. (I'll also delete all comments on the demo site - this way you won't receive any more emails)

If you buy ccomment5 now you will be able to get the new versions in the next 1 year (for free of course). The plan is to release ccomment5 in the beginning of April, but keep in mind that the next version will be only joomla 2.5 compatible!

Kind regards,
Daniel
