I'm running CompojoomComments under Joomla 1.7. Is there a module to display latest comments available?

There is module for 1.5 that we are going to port for 1.7. Should be available by the end of the week.

Hey Steve,
please find the attached file in this post.

Unzip it on your pc and after that upload the jos_com_content.class.php to administrator/components/com_comment/plugin/com_content (you need to override the file, otherwise the module will generate a 500 error on your page)

After that install mod_comments as a normal joomla module.

modcomments - unzip first

And if you like the support and the component, please write a review here:

Is this the final version of the module or will we get an update?

Yep, this is the final version of the module - the reason why I haven't published this in the download area is because of the changes that you need to the comment.class.php . I'll most probably have to make an update of compojoomComment and then the module will work as expected - out of the box without having to override any files.

Btw, the module is already able to display the most commented articles - just play with the settings.

I get this error when trying to install the new version 5.01 of compojoom comment module latest comments.

JFolder: :folder: Path is not a folder. Path: /home/12345/public_html/massindy/administrator/components/com_comment/plugin

I verified and there is no plugin folder there (assuming there should be)

Hey Shonn,
There is no plugin folder anymore -> it is called plugins now. I have no idea why you got that message, but it should not do any problems for the normal functioning of the component. And please start a new thread when you report a problem. Posting in a topic that has nothing to do with your issue is confusing other users.

Regards,
Daniel

This topic is "latest comments module" and my issue was with latest comments module. So seemingly quite appropriate.

The issue was that I uploaded the module from the download which is for 4.2 and that overrided the package installed module for 5.0. Reinstalling 5.0 fixed this.

Aaah, good to know, thanks! Yes, one should not install 4.2 stuff on a 5.0 installation. A lot of things have changed and 4.2 cannot coexist on the same site with 5.0.
