TOPIC: 3 issues after an upgrade

Hi,

I upgraded Compojoomcomment from v4.1.7 stable to 4.1.8 build149.
Now I have 3 issues:

- Instead of "Comment" in the title bar, there is {_JOOMLACOMMENT_COMMENTS_TITLE} (1)
- Instead of "Add comment" in the title bar, there is {_JOOMLACOMMENT_ADDNEW}
- I cannot reply to an existing comment

This is your language file that is not updated.
Look for the file: YOURSITE/language/fr-FR/fr-FR.com_comment.ini
NOTE, I have here just wrote "fr-FR", but I hope you understand I am just refering to your language folder regardless of what it actually is.

If you open up that file, you will see the lines that need to be fixed.
In a lot of upgrades som additional lines get added here. It always takes a while before someone updates the language pack correct.

I checked my fr-FR.com_comment.ini file but didn't see anything wrong within :

Line 71: COM_COMMENT_COMMENTS_TITLE="Commentaires"
Line 58: COM_COMMENT_ADDNEW="Ajouter un nouveau"

Any idea on the third issue ? (cannot reply to a comment)

If I completely uninstall CompojoomComment and reinstall it, will the existing comments be kept ?

Don't uninstall yet...
But generally, as long as you do not do a complete uninstall, the tables in the SQL will be kept. Smart to take a backup regardless.
Check the backend settings for this...
I am checking the language file atm.

Try this French version I just made

Just open this zip file, and then upload the file through FTP to your language area for the French version.
Could be smart to rename the previous version to something else first, so you have a backup. Just in case... I have used Google Translate to do the additional lines. Let me know how it goes...

I am not sure what you mean, when you say you can't reply.
From here, the answer fields are coming up nicely... Would you like me to post a comment to check?
You will just have to delete it afterwards, IF it works...

The issue on the reply is fixed by unchecking "include javascript library" on Layout tab of the settings.

I see you are using a template called myMTDoubleSlide
Maybe you could try changing that to modern , just to check?
I am guessing that your template for the comments may be from a previous version that isn't adjusted for new fields?

Cause I tested the original MTDoubleSlide that follows the package, and that worked, complete WITH translation fields.
I also renamed the French translation to my language, and uploaded it to test, and it worked easy!
Are you sure you are putting it in the correct folder?
It should be placed here: www.mccr78.com/language/fr-FR/

No, sorry Nils, same issue with this new file and despite cleaning of both server cache and browser cache.

From where I am sitting, the fields are working now... with correct language etc...

EDIT: Yepp, that's GREAT!!!

I just need to remove again the "powered by ..." sentence that is showed again.

Not sure... seems the old method doesn't work anymore. And the link to faqs is outdated.
Also the documentation doesn't state how...
