Hi guys,

I recently enabled guest comments to increase commenting on my site, and it has helped _tremendously_. I don't want to turn it off - too many people are commenting that never did before.

That said, I am getting spammed about twice a day with garbage comments. They are bypassing reCaptcha, and Akismet hides the comments, but does NOT hide them from JomSocial (effectively making akismet useless).

That said, one of two things would be awesome:

A) Make it so that when akismet doesn't publish a comment, it also doesn't display the comment in activities feed for jomsocial.

B) Make it so that, instead of or in addition to using recaptcha, we can also use a custom field for verification (i.e., phpBB forums). For example: "Are you a spambot? (Hint: no)" if they type "no", it should let them post.

Ideas?

jomsocial activity also displays spam comments? That is strange I thought that it only displays published comments....

I'll see what I can do to fix it.

Also what you can do is configure this plugin: extensions.joomla.org/extensions/access-...Job25leSBwb3QiO30%3D

It will block a lot of the IPs that distribute spam.

about jomsocial. I've updated the plugin you can download it from here:
compojoom.com/downloads/downloads/compoj...comment-v105zip/view

But you will also have to make a small changes to a compojoomComment file:
dev.compojoom.com/repositories/diff/joco...php?rev=37&rev_to=15

(the red color means - deleted, the green one inserted)

This should fix the problem.
Cheers,
Daniel
