Hi,

After installing the component and try to access whenever Item of the menu Component->!Joomlacomment-> Item...

I always have this or similarly error

string(67) "joomlacomment: unexpected error. No plugin found for component '' !" string(67) "joomlacomment: unexpected error. No plugin found for component '' !"
Deprecated: Function split() is deprecated in /~/www/guandedio.awardspace.co.uk/administrator/components/com_comment/class.config.comment.php on line 294
string(67) "joomlacomment: unexpected error. No plugin found for component '' !"
Fatal error: Call to a member function getViewTitleField() on a non-object in /~/www/guandedio.awardspace.co.uk/administrator/components/com_comment/admin.comment.php on line 692

I unzip the file into my server and then install it from Joomla, the file that I have installed is joomlacomment4.0.0RC1.zip, I don't know if I miss something

Best Regards,
GUAN

Guan, would you go to administrator/components/com_comment/plugin and tell us what plugin directories you have there and if the com_content directory has content?

I believe you can find GuardXT via google.com.au or extensions.joomla.org - either way.

Though maybe you should switch to a non-free host that actually supports Joomla instead? Just a thought.

GuardXT is a general health-check tool for Joomla. It isn't needed if you followed every single point in Joomla installation, FAQ and Security manuals though it is still helpful for those of us that have.

Since awardspace is 100% free I'm going to go and try to actually get Joomla+JoomlaComment working myself on there. Though many people have said their Joomla capability is poor and always crashes, thanks to low-powered servers (hey, it IS free...)

EDIT: Oh I didn't realize there are paid plans, are you on the free one or one of the paid?

jejeje Well I'm starting with this, and I don't want pay for now, maybe in the future :)

I miss the possibility to take comment in the article, and I think your component is the best, acording to the message that I found in the net, so I'll link to check it, that's all.

Thanks for the support,
GUAN

Well I don't actually know of any other FREE hosts with PHP5 and MySQL, hence should support the most basic Joomla installs, so I am interested to check this out myself too. As you said, it's good for people who are just starting who want to explore a little bit.

Though you'd want to upgrade to a paid server if you open a site, 1GB/month bandwidth is OK but still tiny!

Will let you know how I go with awardspace.com installing/operating of JoomlaComment guan.

Well I change my host to another and now It's perfectly working xD, I only have a dough.

I'm using a black template for my site, so it's not look right the comments area (in white). Is it possible to install a skin or something similar?

And another question, I see that the 'comment' introduced uses HTML coding, is there a way to only show the HTML interpretation, not the code?

Best Regards,
GUAN

Altering templates is easy.
Just copy the Modern one, rename it to something else, and then start altering it until you feel it does the job as you want.

Not sure what you mean by the code as apose to its html interpretation.
Do you mean that stuff is not being shown as for example a photo or link, but just a line of text?

If so, make sure the text (code) is tagged correctly.

Hi,

Yes, when I hit on an emoticons I only watch the "link", not the image on the Message Area.

How can I fix it? Is it possible?

Strange, sounds like something is not turned on from the backend...
Do you have a link?

If you print to a printer directly, yes it will draw the comments with it.
If you however go via the PDF button the Comments are omitted.

Not sure how to remove the comments under direct printing though... I think this is something for the big boys (JonusC or Daniel).

This is not a bug, this is normal. You cannot show graphics inside of a text box. We are working on advanced WYSIWYG-based premium templates for a future version of JoomlaComment.

This is a known bug that is very complicated. It will hopefully be addressed in 4.1.
