compojoom.com/de/documentation/hotspots/...ts-sobi2-import.html

Hi!
Sobi2 documentation is missing. I should read it before I start to work with it - as you recommend.

Ok, Yves has redirected his domain (lunajoom.de) to compojoom.com, but unfortunately I don't have a copy of the sobi2 import documentation.

i've sent a mail to Yves to give me the documentation, but that can take some time. You could try to import the entries (before that make a backup of your database) and in the worst case scenario you'll have to give me access to your site to make the import myself :)))

Cheers,
Daniel

Ok, there we go:

In this documetation you find importend informations about the Hotspots sobi2 Import function. Please read it before you import!

Sobi2 - Sigsiu Online Business Index 2 is a directory component for the Joomla to show entries of companies, clubs, persons, shops, products, aso. More informations about sobi2 you can find at the sobi2 homepage.

Please note: This function is new and could contain bugs or other errors!Sigsiu Online Business Index (Sobi2) Import to hotspots

Before you start importing data from Sigsiu Online Business Index 2 (shortterm Sobi2), please backup your hotspots database. And controll that no markers contain in the field autor the string 'sobi2'. After that have a look at the sobi2 field manager and compare the id values of the data fields (see screenshot) with the ones at Hotspots sobi2 import. Usually it should be the same. If you don't want to import a field from sobi2, just set the field id value to a number that does not exist (normaly there are a maximum of ~20 fields in sobi2, so just type in 101).
Hint: If you want to import an other costum field as description (like your own special fields), change the description id to the costum field value.

Please note: If you have an sobi2 entry in multiple categories, it will be imported more then one time to hotspots. Hotspots is not yet able to handle multiple categories for a single hotspot (normaly not the propose of hotspots), to solve this for sobi2, we import the same entry foreach category in sobi2. (same entry, just different category).

Delete old entries

If you don't set "Delete old entries" to yes, old entries will stay in the hotspots database (double entrys!). If you want to save some old hotspots marker or just some categories then you have to change the autorfield to something else, then sobi2!

Number of Chars to import from description

Set the number of chars to import from sobi2 entry description, for the hotspots marker popup (Short Description). Please note this database field is limited to 255 Chars maximum and the phone number, website and mail are also written into it!

Ok, thanks. If the fields number are given, and they are setted up properly than the entries will be fine. I see.

What about the categories?
Do I have to create them in Hotspot (and for xample give them the same name as in Sobi2)
OR NOT, because the category names will be fully imported from Sobi2?

What about the place markers? (This question is related to the previous one)
Which icons will be used? I need to upload them in Hotspot,
OR these also come from Sobi2, during the import? (as the icons of the Sobi2 categories)
I have uploaded nice icons from here code.google.com/p/google-maps-icons/ for the Hotspot categories, but maybe the imported entries/categories wont use them.

The categories will be imported from sobi2.

The marker icons that you select for each category will be used. Since the sobi2 categories won't have any icons, you will have to manually go in them and assign a proper image

It is done, works perfectly. Thank you.

Is it possible to force Hotspots to import Sobi2 entries automatically? If yes, how?

So you want that when a user publish a sobi2 product, it should automatically display in hotspots? No, this is not possible. Actually the plan right now is to move hotspots from just a thing to show some markers on the map to a directory organized around the map. So the idea is that you can import your sobi2 products in hotspots and start to use hotspots instead of sobi. We have a lot of features to add, but we will get there :)
