Hello,

So far I am loving joomlacomment. I have 2 requests. If anyone can point me towards a hack/bridge/fix that would be great. or maybe it's already in there and I can't figure it out.

1. I would love for my users to upload images in the comments instead of linking to images. What if those images get taken down from other sites? Will my comments have a bunch of broken images? plus, it's so much easier for users to upload than to link. Is this possible?

2. Similar to a WYSIWYG editor, I would like to give the url's a label. instead of having this long url link, i would like users to give a label and have the url be in the background.

Are either of these possible? Even if the images could somehow be combined with CB Profile Gallery or if there's some 3rd party image upload plugin i could put into the commenting system. Let me know.

Thanks so much!

Nope, right now it is not possible. I would like to write such a feature, but right now there are more important things than this. I'm refactoring the component since 2 weeks and and I'm less than 50% ready with bringing the code level to 2009. (don't get me wrong - the extension is great, but the code as it is right now doesn't allow me to add new features within 1h, but within several days)

For the link
what about this:

I've been working on integration with one-step ImageShack uploading, however it's not going too well and is difficult for non ImageShack-registered users. If I ever figure it out I will probably restrict it to Premium Templates, but i've already given up to be honest. I like Daniel have a million more important things to worry about and we arn't really prepaired to turn JoomlaComment into a Forum software yet ;)

What Daniel said above works. I assume you mean to actually ask the user in a message box. We could modify the URL bb-code to put a popup box to ask for a title (or url) and detect if one is selected to choose which one they need to fill out but then if they select a..... yeah, that's complicated!

And I hate those popup boxes.

A future template will probably have better handling of interactive markup requests in the Comment forms.

If Daniel or I ever made such a plugin, it would go in the marketplace (and not be free). The question is, do you (and other users) want it bad enough to buy Daniel a beer or two? I mean... to help pay his rent? :)
