TOPIC: Looking to get a "view more replies" button. screenshot inside

Hey guys,

great module so far.

However I was wondering if instead of listing all the replies to a comment, that maybe by default 5 replies are listed, and then you get the option of viewing more replies by click on the button.

(This is the second time someone made a suggestion based on that websites' comment system)

I think that it is possible, I wam actively working with Daniel to create more templates and hope to have more things like this. But i'm not sure how much changes would be required to the internal code to allow this sort of thing.

I guess i'll take the opportunity to ask - What is your personal opinion on what should be the action when you click this 'More replies...' link? Should it (1) open all comments expanded in a new window or (2) 'slide open' the extra comments web2.0-style (sites like Facebook for example)? Number 2 would actually be easier for me to do but it seems a lot of people love the ability to "read all comments in a seperate window".

IMO defiantly the second one. Just a lot more neater and easier to manage rather than having a whole new window open.

Agreed, I hate popups and am quite a fan of Facebook's AJAX magic (it does a similar 'Show More...' thing). I think there'll be a 'Hide' aswell, just incase there happen to be several-hundred or more flyouts.

Yup. I'm in the process of creating some very fancy templates, i've got most of the graphics coded up for two or three so far (screenshot teasers will come soon) but the coding part is going slowly as I'm still learning how to tie in the JavaScript to make these fancy things work 100%. They also need to be constantly tested on a variety of Joomla Templates. So a definate timeframe isn't out yet, but I would roughly guess about month at most, hopefully only a week or two, until the first wave of new Templates are available.

O right wow that sounds good, I don't mind waiting!
