I have read several threads in this forum about this problem, but can't find any solution working for the J1.0.15 homepage I use !JoomlaComment 3.26 on.

I am the Super Administrator of the homepage.
I want to get email notification when new comments are made before logging into Joomla Backend and modify (publish) them.

These are my Content Items / com_content settings:

SECURITY:

Basic Settings
Only registered: No
Autopublish comments: No

Notification
Notify admin (do not use anymore): No
Admin's email: (Here I have written the email address I use both as Super Administrator and in the Global Settings.)
Notify moderators: Yes
Moderator groups: ...SAdministrator
Enable users notification: No
Enable comment feed (RSS): No

I do not receive any email when comments are entered. After clicking "Send" one get a pop-up window saying the comment will be published as soon as a moderator has looked at it, and the comment is saved as unpublished in the "Manage comments" database. But no email telling me that a new comment has arrived, not to my email account and not to back-end mass-mail account.

Please help, I cannot log on back-end every half an hour day in day out to check if there are new comments, so I need to get this issue solved and will be thrilled if any of you could guide me!

Thanks in advance!
- Ranja

Perhaps a stupid question, but it happened to me. Are you sure that your profile has the right e-mail address in it(It happened once to me, that is why I'm asking :))

Also are you sure that your joomla installation can at all send e-mails?

What do you mean with "profile"?
I am Super Administrator of the Joomla homepage, is that what you mean with "profile"? If so, yes, it is the same e-mail address in User Register, Global Settings and JoomComment Security.

Yes, I think so? At least I get an email whenever the homepage owner (Publisher) has entered a new article. Meaning I get a mass mail inside the backend of Joomla and an email in my emailaccount. Guestbook entries also trigger emails to my email account (but not to Joomla backend).

Where or what can I do to check this?

To be honest I don't have any idea why this is happening. Would you give me super admin access - I will look at your settings and perhaps I could find something?

Hehe, no. Of course I would not give away a Super Admin access to a stranger. I see this is the answer most of these topics get, and I am a bit amazed that there are no solution to this problem still. Some asked months ago. Where are the developer(s)?

Tell me what settings you need to see and I will provide them to you here in attached images. :silly:

Well, here I am willing to help you. But I cannot fix a problem that doesn't occur on my configuration. I need to work on you specific machine to see where the problem is coming from.

Sorry Ranja, but that is everything I can do from distance.

Wasn't anything personal

Let's say you had access, where would you look and what would you look for? As I said, I can provide you any print screen image you want. But I can't give you - or anyone else - access, it's too risky.

I would first look under content settings for something wrong, then I will check your joomla configuration. Then I will write a comment and will see if I get it. If I don't get it I will install joomlaexplorer and will start to debug joomlacomments files to see exactly where the code brakes.
