TOPIC: Barcode .. cant get it to work .Not functional ?

Reg the barcodescanning funktion.

When processing booking / generating ticket, the bar-code looks right, and are scanable, but from here, it seems functionallity is not up running - or ?
I run into 403 link mess. / You are not not allowed. .. Is it because i someshere need to use logins / and if, at which step?
Or Is there something that has to be setup. I cant find it. See attached ticket. This is the link from the mobilephone barcode link:

Hi Kim,

by default only organizers (joomla users with the fitting ACL rights) can check in bookings. So they have to login first.

If you want that everyone should be able to check-in users there is a setting for that.

Hmmm. I thought the idea with the barcode scanning would be something like, that a ticketer / door controller would be able to scan the ticket at the door.
Even if I´m locked in as administrator on the phone I use for barcode scanning, I still get a dinied 403 mess, and I dont see a special "read bacode" function in Matukio backend.
I havent been able to find explanation at the forum / manual.

There must be an purpose idea with the barcode default at the ticket?
Could you briefly explain what the idea / aim of the barcode scanning filed is meant to be used for, and how it must be setup?
Who can scan, and how will they do it tecnically, to be logged in?

Are you logged in in the frontend? Backend and frontend is divided in Joomla!

The barcode contains a link to an unique URL in Matukio, when this one is opened in the browser the booking is checked-in (or an error message is shown if there are any problems, like that he is already checked in).

The barcode has to be read by a smartphone application (there are hundreds of free out there), which then opens the containing URL in the browser. By default only organizers are allowed to use that URL (so that users don't accidentally check-in there-self etc. - this can only be done once), but that can be changed by a setting.

I have a barcode scanner on my Samsung S4 (Actually have more barcodesccanner apps to try with) and it works well -- have used them for years, and the link is, as you explain, are showed correctly after the ticket scanning... but clicking from here I get a 403 no matter I before log in as administrator frontend or backend (What is the correct?)
Something I missed? I guess I must do something wrong..

frontend - does your user have enough rights to check-in users? JFactory::getUser()->authorise('core.edit.own', 'com_matukio')

Try changing the setting "Check-in by Organizer" in the Matukio settings to No, then everybody should be able to check-in a booking.

Got it to work now. Simple.. I Use the crome on my phone, but for this matter, the phone tried to open the link with a special "samsung browser" which does not know the login. Now it works. Sorry for the bother. (But .. yes it was a 403 .. se the link in first text and this is understandable, as with the wrong browser, I dont have permission.
