Sorry this is in the wrong place, but I can't select any of the Matukio categories.

We've installed Matukio on a site we're building at the moment, and it's a great tool offering pretty much everything that our client wants. However, we've discovered that due to the way the back-end of the component has been built & styled there are layout problems when using the site on a small screen resolution. In fact, in order to access all the buttons in the Bookings part of the back-end we have to be using a screen resolution no smaller than 1680px wide. The back-end fails to resize correctly for mobile and tablet, and the quirk of the way that the component is built means that the styled elements are overlaid on top of the main Joomla admin and positioned using CSS positon:absolute. As we are using Joomla 3 and everything else about the site is responsive this is a severe drawback & seems to me to be an oversight.

Is there an easy way to detach the component from it's custom styling & use the standard Joomla back-end instead?

Hi Karen,

the Matukio backend is optimized for resolutions starting with 1600px (on desktop pcs!) - the default resolution of most displays is 1920px (Full HD) upwards and that for some years now.

But normally the layout (only the bookings overview form has because of 20 buttons some problems - will be fixed soon) should also work on smaller displays - we will have a menu minimize function with one of the next versions offering more size to the content. The template itself is responsive, but it has some glitches - we have further optimizations for that very high on our todo list :)

Detaching the layout back to the Joomla default one isn't possible without many code changes, because it's not only a CSS layout. There are so many things coming with that (bootstrap, javascript files etc.)

Kind regards,

Yves

Hi Yves,

Thanks for your response. It does only seem to be the Bookings overview that we're having problems with. I am aware that most users have larger screen resolutions these days, but I am just concerned that our client may be operating on an older machine or one with a smaller resolution - or even a tablet. We'll wait for the fix on the bookings overview.

Kind regards,

Karen
