On your documentation you write "Starting with Hotspots 3.6 you are now able to show your K2 entries on the map. All you need to do for this feature is to configure and enable the K2 - Hotspots plugin."

I tried to configure the plugin without success, what does the K2 - Hotspots plugin do exactly? It's supposed to create a hotspot entry for each k2 item that has the extra field set in the plugin, isn't it?

It's not doing anything in my case, please advise

Thanks

It does exactly this. Once the plugin is configured, whenever you create/entry a k2 entry we look at the extra field value -> if it contains an address "street, city, zip, country" -> we run it through google's geocoder and we make an entry in the hotsptos table.

The plugin is also able to display that spot directy under your k2 item or in the hotspots map.

If you think that it is not working, then please create a private ticket and I'll have a look on your site.

Regards,
Daniel

Hi there,
I have just used this extension for the first time and it worked first time.
You have to ensure that you setup an extrafield group in K2 with an extrafield set as a textfield.
Make sure that the category which you use is configured to use the corresponding extrafield group.
Once you have that setup, then in the K2 Hotspots plugin, select the corresponding k2 category and make sure to set the Address to pick the correct extrafield name you setup.
Now, in the K2 item, in the corresponding category, make sure to add the address details in the extrafields tab.
Now make sure that the component settings are set to display the K2 content, you should see that there are now items in the Hot Spot Locations

Hope that helps.

Not doing anything here, maybe it's because i'm working on local with wamp server.
I'll give it a try when i put it online.
Anyway as it doesn't pick up the k2 categories and as i need to adjust the marker location too, i may as well do it manually.

Thanks anyway :)

Hey Remy,
Naaa, I doubt it is the wamp server. Once you have it on a live site, please create a private ticket and give me access to your site and I'll have a look at this.

Currently the plugin auto geocodes the coordinates depending on what google returns as a result. In a future option I could add an option for the user to drag and drop a marker with the specific location. The more people want it, the bigger the chance for it will be :)

Cheers,
Daniel
