I used J2xml extension to import articles and categories, but the comments were not imported

Any idea how to do that? I have your old comment extensions Ijoomlacomments

Thanks

You need to copy the joomlacomments tables. Then if you get a subscription you would need to update to 4.2.1 (if you have moved to 2.5) and then you can update to 5.0

If you don't have a subscription search the forum I've shared the sql queries that need to be applied.
Regards,
Daniel

hi, what is the subscription?

Also what is the difference between free and pro version of ccomments

On my old joomla site1.5 I have one person spamming me with 1000 comments per week, and he uses variable ip so I cant block him, is this component any better in reducing the spam?

If it is a person, chances are that you can't block him that easy. If it is spam bot then you can use akismet for example to check the content of the message and determine if he is a spambot or not.

Currently we don't suffer from any spam with 5.0 here on compojoom (that was not the case with the previous version). More info about the component can be found here:

Daniel

i tried to find the ijoomlacomment mysql code, but could not find it anywhere on this forum

I searched for ijoomlacomment migration, upgrade etc, no results in forum searches, are you sure you posted the code before?

Hey Bob,
I want to point you to this: www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-2.0.html

I'm happy that you used software that I wrote. Yep that makes me proud, but it doesn't automatically pay the bills. The software is distributes as is, without any warranty. Demanding free support is like - having a free meal and complaining that it doesn't come with a free beer.

Anyway... here is the link I was talking about
compojoom.com/forum/2-general-talk/18322...mla-1-5-to-2-5#23145
Move the old tables to your joomla 2.5/3.2 site, then apply the changes. After that try to install 5.0 - it should work.

Daniel
