I am interested in your extension to migrate a Wordpress site to joomla but I want to know if that migration means that the Wordpress site will no longer work? I am hoping to develop the Joomla site in a subdirectory, keeping the WP site intact until the Joomla one is ready.

So does "migrating" literally mean it 'moves', or is it 'copied"? Is there a workaround if it moves it?

You can keep your wordpress as long as you need.
For CMigrator you'll need a copy of the wordpress database. So you'll make a copy of your current wp site, insert the copy in your new joomla db, and then you'll move the content. All the time you'll work in a subdirectory and CMigrator won't touch your WP site in any way :)

Cheers,
Daniel

Sounds good...let me be sure I understand...when you say "insert the copy" you mean a copy of the wp database? So I create the joomla db then copy the wp database and import it there also? Can I have two databases at one time in my joomla installation?

Exactly :)

Yes, you can have 2 databases at one time. The Joomla tables are prefixed with random string fgz_ and the wordpress tables as well - normally with wp_ . That is why they can occupy the same database without any issue.
